URL Registration
URL
registration may seem like an odd service to provide, but not if
you're serious about web marketing. Another web marketing technique
is to make use of one or more original domain names tied to one
or more mirror sites.
A mirror site is a web site on one web server that has been copied
to another web server. There are several reasons for employing this
technique. The one we focus on is for the purposes of web marketing.
Search engines spider your existing site based on a particular
domain name (www.mysite.com). It may be sent back a few other times
to spider other doorway pages as well. However, another option is
to register a separate domain name and mirror your site. Why?
First, it provides you with two 'individual' web sites to submit
to both search engines and directories, effectively doubling your
exposure and marketing efforts.
Second, most of the major search engines rank actual domain sites
(www.myothersite.com) higher than secondary URL's (www.mysite.com/myothersite/).
Although hosting a mirror site on your existing web server under
a separate directory may seem like a good idea, the outcome is not
as effective as mirroring your site under an entirely new domain.
