with Internet services and tools.
Students will:
- master the use of e-mail, newsgroups and
browser programs (Internet Explorer)
- examine a popular editor program such as
Microsoft FrontPage 98
- design and create web pages using
effective web design techniques, HTML page
- learn coding and the use of frames,
tables and forms
- learn to use a variety of graphic tools
required for web creation
- develop ‘smart’ pages using
JavaScript and Java
- make use of the digital camera and
scanner to create pictures and photos for web pages (web site
management includes downloading, uploading, FTP, zip/unzip,
installation, configuration, planning and making use of web site
quality assurance tools)
- explore the use of firewalls, proxy
servers and e-commerce (Topics such as physical network design,
communication control methods, PPP/SLIP, user level protocols, DNS
firewalls and data encryption methods will be covered)
- acquire both theory and practical
hands-on training
- research a variety of sites to discover
the many business and technical resources available
