Shockwave is a software technology which was developed by
Macromedia for inserting multimedia
applications onto the World Wide Web
Shockwave enables Web designers to use graphics, animations,
audio, and video to be combined in
small files and thusly give the designer
greater control of the design process.
The main uses for Shockwave movies
on a Web site are navigation, deco-
ration and content provision.

One of the main uses of Shockwave
that I have found is to create exciting
opening page navigational aids.

The  excitement of a shocked opening
page holds ones attention more than a
static page.

Proactive and interactive sites also
keep the viewer on the site for a longer time.

This site is designed to give the viewer an insight into this technology
and hopefully enthuse me to learn
more about it.
