
Emphasis will be on the web (WWW) and how to effectively search for information, products, services, or software and how to download files. Visit a variety of sites using a browser program (Netscape and Explorer) an d learn about many business and technical reosources available.
Learn how to service the hardware needs of an internet
service provider and its clients. Many companies require these smae skills
to set up an Intranet. You will acquire both theory and practical hands-on
training. Topics such a physical network desing communication control methods, PPP/SLIP,
user level protocols, DNS, firewalls and data encryption methods will be
covered.

Who Should Apply
This program is suitable for employed on non-employed persons, new workers, those re-entering
the workforce or anyone wihshing to upgradeor
learn new business skells. The working person is accommodated through the scheduling of classes
two evenings a week and ever ohter Saturday (no classes during July and
August.)

Entrance Requirements
Applicants will be considered on an individual basis. Seats are limited.
Educational background and/or work experience may be accepted as part of the
admissin requirements.
Workload and Student Evaluations
this is a part-time courese totaling 240 hours. In addition to classroom
activities students will be required to read, study and prepare assignmenst
outside classroom hours. Studnet support services such as the computer lab
and library will be available as posted.
Students will be evaluated for each course module in the program. Evaluations
will be on classroom participation, classroom assignments, web project and
examinations.

Certification
This program offers credit toward the Kwantlen University College
Continuing Education Information Technology & Computer Support Specialist
Certificate Program. A Continuing Education Citation will be issued upon
successful completion.
