In the Summers I work as a River Rafting Guide for a company called Hyak Wilderness Adventures. I have been involved with them for about five years and have a great time.

We Raft the Chilliwack River in British Columbia from May - July every year. The danger level of River Rafing is based on 1-6 scale, one bieng a stream and six being the Niagra Falls. The Chilliwack has Class 3-4 rapids and the levels are constantly changing. The Chilliwack is a very technical river to raft and can be very challenging. The most common hazards on this river are log jams and rocks.

Another river we raft is the Thompson River (near Lytton, B.C. Rafting Capital of Canada). The Thompson is a much larger river with Class 3-4.5 and is great in the hot summer weather. The Thompson has hugh waves and boils which can flip a raft over in a second. Whirlpools are a hazard early in the season as they can suck you down. The best time to raft the Thompson is in September when the river is at lower water. To book a trip with them just click on their logo shown below.
