Course Description

This Citation program is an introduction to working with Internet services and tools and is a good place to start your WEBMASTERING career. Students will use the World Wide Web, learn effective search techniques, design web pages and write web pages with HTML. They will also learn utility programs for web page management including an overview of popular editor programs, explore the uses of e-mail and newsgroups, discover emerging technologies such as Java applets and other graphics, and examine the use of video conferencing, and broadcast software, IRC and NetMeeting. Students will also learn to service the hardware needs of an Internet service provider. Topics such as: physical network design and communication control methods, PPP/SLIP, user level protocols, DNS, firewalls and data encryption methods will be covered.
