Who Uses ColdFusion?
As previously mentioned, ColdFusion is used by nearly half the Fortune 500 companies for either intranet or Internet applications. I have also included a quote by Internet World to the effect that ColdFusion is pretty much a household word in the Web development community; that the product drives interactive applications on tens of thousands of sites of all descriptions. Stoneage proudly announces its use of ColdFusion - most certainly an Enterprise application if ever there was one - and quite likely one that uses multiple servers. Allaire, ColdFusion's creator is an obvious example, but who else uses it?

The following list comprises samples pulled mainly from a far vaster roster on Ben Forta's site. Among other utilities, these companies use ColdFusion to maintain customer information databases, provide technical support, or offer tips and/or recipes-of-the-day. ColdFusion can be used to create virtual shopping carts, to track packages, verify credit cards, conduct surveys. A retailer can use it not only to maintain up-to-the-minute product inventories but to confirm availability of new stock before going to the supplier to pick it up. Realtors can use ColdFusion for virtual home listings, and any Webmaster can use it to create dynamic sites that will save countless hours of ongoing maintenance. Virtually any application that builds and/or accesses a database will lend itself to ColdFusion.

While the list of CF uses is endless, this list of users is fairly short because (a) reading lists is boring, and (b) it doesn't take all that many really big names to illustrate a point.
