Test each of the sites listed in the “Finding Email Addresses” document.
See if you can find your own email address on the net.
Try to locate a family member who may be on the net.
Try to locate a friend who may be on the net.

Marks: 10 marks
PART A - (To be done in pairs) – 7 marks
Follow the steps below to complete the assignment. All portions of the assignment must be completed to receive full marks. Include both names in the email for marking purposes.
Read the document “Finding a mail list”.
Experiment with five (5) different searches and rank them. Explain why you have ranked them in this order including ease of use, searching capability, subject breakdown, etc.
Find lists on the following topics:
* HTML Development
* Web Graphics
* Computer Networking
* CGI Programming
* Java
When a list has been located, identify the type of list it is. (Moderated, unmoderated, closed, open)
Note the information necessary to subscribe to the list.
PART B - (To be done individually) – 3 marks
Choose a list of interest to subscribe to. (Use search if applicable)
Subscribe to the list.
In your mail software, create a mailbox/folder used to hold the list.
In your mail software, create a filter to place the mail received from the list into the mailbox.
Copy the mailing list instructions to the listserv mailbox.
Forward a copy of the listserv instructions to my email account for marking.
